Student, James Cottle – Funding changes in higher education were announced back in 2004 leading to protests from students opposed to rises in their tuition fees. Despite these protests, under the Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition government a bill was passed in the House of Commons allowing universities to be able to charge students up to £9,000 a year.
